My Dream Holiday - Hawaii
I read James A Michener's Hawaii when I was nineteen years old and wanted to go to Hawaii then. I'm still just as passionate about it now - many moons later - as I was then.
This post will show the process that I take to try and achieve the tasks which are required. I've decided to do it this way because I've spent a fair bit of time just trying to do some mashing, researching how to connect what I've found with the interactive Google map and present a good looking post. Well, it's just now happening. So here we go. I've used the link which Kate has shared with all of us <https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3544418?hl=en&ref_topic=3093585> and followed the instructions until I come to 'paste the code into the source code of my website' I just can't work out where that is? So I've pasted it her and hyper linked it. You can actually click on it and the map comes up, but I have done a photo shoot of it too...

Here 'tis. There are two screen shots because I plan to do two 'journeys' on the Island of Maui, known as the Magic Isle.
So, I've signed up with <www.mashable.com> believing that there would be a process there for me to construct a mashup of my holiday, but I can't find it? Perhaps I'm just not seeing it. I've looked at what our group members have used, including mashme-tv, TrendsMap, NaturalMashDemo, researched Google Maps A.P.I. and MapMyNearest. The side result of all this is that mashable.com are now following me on Twitter - hey?
If TrendsMap incorporates Google Maps and Google Places, this seems like the one that I should stick with and really try.
The island of Maui is magical because it's renowned for it's Green Mountains, sparkling seas and pristine beaches and amazing waterfalls. The fact that I'm really into all thinks nature related and would love to experience some parks and natural wonders means that I really want to visit scenic Haleakala, and then go on to Hana, which is on the first map.
The second map shows the trip to the Iao Valley which is literally promoted as being 'magic'.
Unfortunately, TrendsMap tells me that there are no locations found when I enter Mauii into the search engine, but there is some Twitter chat about watching the lunar eclipse in Mauii.
MapMyNearest asks for a postcode, so I go google and search for Mauii postcodes. They are 6 digits and quite a few of them. This site is primarily used to look for Art Galleries, so after trying four postcodes it is clear to me that there aren't many Art Galleries in Mauii.
Now I'm going to simply google places and images to see if I can find information worth posting for my holiday. I've found an excellent link <http://www.gohawaii.com/au/maui> which probably gives me most of the information that I need, including the fact that it is currently 27degrees in Mauii right now. I would love to be able to mash this in with my blog but I do believe I need some help.
Clearly my challenge for the Easter break, Cheers, Susanne
