This is who I am and these are some of my goals

Dear Fellow Bloggers from our Bloggers Anonymous Group!

This is a shortish post. I forgot to introduce myself at the beginning and I also need to tell you about some of the goals which I have for my MIM Degree.

This is my second year of the MIM Degree.  I studied two subjects each semester last year, so I've only completed four subjects. They are Professional Issues and Practice, Information Provision One and Two and Business Management.  I also completed my Industry Placement at the end of Semester One at The Melbourne Athenaeum Library.  This placement was awesome and I did experience an amazing amount of hands-on type content, which is helping me to study this year. I would suggest that you guys also consider doing your placement to help you to understand what we're being taught.

I am a teacher, secondary and primary, of English, T.E.S.O.L., Literacy, Literature, Health, Humanities and other subjects.  At my age I've decided that I don't want to be in the classroom anymore - bit ironic, I know, but I mean as the teacher.  I LOVE books and libraries, so this is the perfect choice :)

I started to study Doc. Man One in Semester One last year and withdrew because the load was way too big.  I also found that the technology in the tutes was a huge learning curve so this leads me into my main goals.

Goal One - I sincerely hope that I can be a tech savvy Librarian or Information Management Professional,

Goal Two - I want to learn how to use and relate this technology to my everyday life.

Goal Three - I would like to be a positive member of a collaborative learning team in a supportive learning environment.

Happy Blogging,
Susanne

    1. Hi Kate, I think we're all in for even steeper learning curves, but I'm sure that we're all up for the challenge! We certainly support each other as a little working community, so that's got to help each one of us.
      Cheers,
      Susanne

  4. Hey Nouf,
You're correct, my work experience, that is my placement, opened up my eyes to SO much AND I'm very grateful for this - but - just confidentially, I think that the librarians appreciated having me there too - because they were really smiling and happy and supportive of everything that I did and always asked me every day, what I would like to learn and what they could do for me to help me learn - good stuff!! Cheers, Susanne :)
