Hello Kate, Nouf, Lisette, Luisa and Christina!!
Awesome Anonymous Bloggers that you are!!!
I'm reporting in on my experience with the 'Endnote for Beginners' session at the R.M.I.T. Library. The biggest thing that I found out from the session is that I certainly am a beginner!!
I spent a fair bit of the time interacting with my Endnote 7 'creation' and the R.M.I.T. Library databases and also did simple and advanced library searches. This activity was excellent for me because I usually learn by doing, so I was able to practice over and over how to transfer journals, articles, books and other resources, from the library site into my Endnote doc.
Then we were shown how to create groups, which is what Huan was explaining two weeks ago. That is, having separate 'folders' for each subject so that you don't end up with just one huge list of references. So, they call the folders 'Groups' and I've created two groups, one for each subject that I'm studying this semester. Once you've created a group, you can create what they call 'Super Groups' within them, so that's for assignments and assessment tasks for each subject. Great!
I sort of got left behind at this point, because I was concentrating on my groups and the class moved forward to work with Word and Endnote, so I'm going back for another session to learn how to do this as well as I can. I'm really determined that I'm going to be an efficient Endnote user 'by the end of the day'.
I hope to share what I learn at the next session too, so we can all be happy Endnoters :)
Cheers and happy blogging,
Susanne
They're called 'SMART GROUPS' not 'Super Groups' hahaa, They'd better be smart, might make up for some of my 'unsmarts'

Hi Susanne
ReplyDeleteGood job, you was exploring Endnote and using it in efficient way particularly for references and assessment task.
I looking forward for your next post.
Hey Nouf, I still need to go to the next learnng session, because I need to be sure how to use word doc with Endnote, then I might be more confident - can you come too? Cheers, Susanne
